The
structure and material of the BLACK HARNESS
Master
leather artist, Al Stohlman says that slower hand sewing is superior
to machine sewing. It is the best method for lasting years of
wear and service. With this in mind, we complete each section
with only one length of thread for strength and durability.
Notice
in the diagram how with machine stitched piece the thread doesn't
go all the way through the leather, when one thread breaks, both
threads will continue to unravel. With hand sewing, the thread
goes all the way through the leather each time making for stronger
construction.

Our
combination of hand stitching and tough black latigo leather construction
means our harnesses can go the distance. In one training session
one dog pulled at his harness over 19 times and his last was as
intense as his first. The comfortable fit gives equal stress to
all a dogs power points allowing them to pull a great deal of
weight without discomfort.
In
the photos, Mike, a four year old German shepherd of Leerburg
lineage never objected to the harness during his months of training
and never hesitated in any lunging efforts. The shearling lined,
comfortable fit of our superbly constructed harness is perfect
for training or working your dog in any capacity.
